Candid Broads Productions is a BAFTA-nominated production company founded in 2020 by French-British producer Oriane Pick, with the aim to bring unspoken truths from underrepresented communities to the forefront of the entertainment industry.

THE COMPANY

Shortly after its inception, Development Producer Anais Ferrato joined the team, furthering Candid Broads’ commitment to ensuring diverse female representation both in front of and behind the camera

Candid Broads is also dedicated to championing emerging filmmakers, which has led the company to produce and develop several debut features from upcoming writers and directors. They have recently wrapped production on Kieran Bourne’s romantic drama Arthur & Clara, starring CJ Beckford and BAFTA Nominee Mirren Mack, with other debut features in development including Underdogs, and an adaptation of their 2024 BAFTA Cymru Breakthrough Nominee The Date, in early development with Ffilm Cymru

In the short film arena, Candid Broads has worked with Warner Brothers Discovery on the groundbreaking documentary The Long Game Away (Hannah Congdon), the insightful comedy The Contraception Fair (Julie Magnaudet), featuring Screen Star of Tomorrow Ronke Adekoluejo and Derry Girls Kathy Kiera Clarke; and Swim Sistas (Catherine Joy White), a documentary narrated by Naomie Harris about the swimming journeys of three very different Black women as barriers are broken down in the water. The latter has been selected at multiple Oscar-qualifying film festivals.

ORIANE PICK | CEO & Founder

Oriane Pick is a French-British actor and producer forging a distinctive path in the international film industry. After beginning her career as an actor and encountering a pattern of stereotypical roles, she transitioned into producing with a clear mission: to champion authentic, complex, and unapologetically human portrayals of women on screen.

She launched her producing career with the short film Say Your Name, in which she also starred, earning two Best Actress nominations including BIFA qualifying Unrestricted View Film Festival in 2019. In 2020, she founded Candid Broads Productions to further her ambition of amplifying diverse female voices both in front of and behind the camera, with a focus on telling bold, candid stories from underrepresented communities. Her producing career has also seen her shortlisted for the 2025 Film London Lodestars and win Business Woman of the Year at the SME Awards in 2024

Through Candid Broads, Pick has built a dynamic slate of scripted and documentary short films. Her work includes The Date, a BAFTA-Cymru Breakthrough Award nominee and Exit6 Film Festival Best Film winner, following a thirteen-year-old girl navigating her sexuality after her first date; The Contraception Fair, a surreal exploration of reproductive choice; the award-winning web series Call It A Day, centred on two women redefining themselves in a changing world; and Swim Sistas, a documentary charting the swimming journeys of three Black women, narrated by Naomie Harris.

As of 2025, Pick and Candid Broads are expanding into feature filmmaking, with several projects in development from emerging writers and directors and ongoing collaborators from their short film slate, reflecting their ongoing commitment to nurturing new talent. These include a feature adaptation of The Date in early development with Ffilm Cymru, alongside a wider slate of female-led stories. The company has recently wrapped production on its debut feature, Arthur & Clara, a romantic drama directed by Kieran Bourne and starring CJ Beckford and BAFTA-nominated and Screen’s Rising Star Scotland Mirren Mack.

Alongside her production work, Pick collaborates with the female-led charity The Girls Network, providing opportunities to young girls from underrepresented backgrounds, and offering guidance for those producing short films based on their lived experiences.

NOAM | Runner

Born with a backstage pass, Noam got his first industry credit in utero—appearing (uncredited, unfairly) in both Swim Sistas and a questionable comedy (about contraception) while in his mum’s belly. Ever since, he's been riding the nepotism wave like it’s a red carpet, showing up where cameras roll and craft services flow.

The son of a producer and a very patient mum, Noam is currently focused on napping, pooping, and leveraging his industry connections. He hasn’t said his first word yet, but when he does, there’s a good chance it’ll be “development deal.”

He is living proof that it’s not just what you know—it’s also who you’re related to.
